SAMPLE OF
LETTER ASKING FOR SUPPORT
Many times letters requesting support are sent without all the pertinent
information. Often, this can cause a lose of valuable time. Please copy and
use the following format.
Professor Barbara Woodhouse
College of Law, University of Florida
P O Box 11620
Gainesville, FL 32611-7620
Dear Professor Woodhouse,
Attached you will find a copy of an executive
summary outlining a dependency mediation program that The Fifth Judicial Circuit
is looking at implementing, and would like to start in Hernando County. There
has been a consensus of the Family Law Committee that Hernando County is in
great need of such a program. We have the opportunity to apply for a grant from
the Office of the State Courts Administrator, Dispute Resolution Center that
requires no matching funds which could launch the program.
A letter of support from you would be greatly
appreciated. Please address your letters to:

SAMPLE
LETTER GIVING SUPPORT
Dear Ms. McNally,
This letter is in support of
the Children’s Home Society continued efforts in striving to improve the quality
of life for so many families. The implementing of Healthy Families
Citrus/Hernando is one so vital to the families in these communities where
services are so limited.
As Deputy Court Administrator
for the Fifth Judicial Circuit I can attest to the good work that has been done
in the other three counties of this circuit by Children’s Home Society. I, in
the past have fully supported their efforts and will continue to support this so
very important endeavor.
With respect to the
demographics of the area there is a great need for in-home parenting programs
that address medical prevention, infant mental health prevention, child
development enhancement, school readiness preparation, and child abuse and
neglect prevention. Additionally, I believe our children deserve the chance
for Health Start so that they will be able to enjoy a happy childhood and grow
to be productive unscarred adults. Children’s Home Society’s track record in
Health Families clearly makes them an excellent candidate to expand into Citrus
and Hernando Counties.
We hope you receive this
proposal with as much enthusiasm and excitement for the project as we have.
Sincerely,
Christine C. Groves
Deputy Court Administrator
Fifth Judicial Circuit
