The Federal Government has appropriated over $436 billion to grant seekers this year.  There are over 200 programs that non-profits, government agencies, schools, faith-based and grass-roots organizations may apply for.  Over $50 billion of this money is in formula or block grants.  Formula and block grants are made available to States and local governments and from there the municipalities award money to the local charities and agencies.  For more information you might want to contact your state or local government.
